  • Newbie & Tuesday Ride

    Hi Everyone,
Just a quick post to introduce myself, I’m Mark Pawley from Ashton-in-Makerfield. I joined in the Carr Mill/Billinge ride last Tuesday. Although a keen cyclist I’m quite new to Mountain Biking and the lads were encouraging and most helpful , pointing out the pitfalls of our route. Could I say a big thank youto you gents and I hope to see you again Tuesday.
    Cheers,
    Mark

    Hi Mark,
    welcome.

I was the guy who watched your back going down the very slippy hill.

Would strongly suggest you bring your lid this week

defo re the lid - the last time clint "watched my back" (i.e. was behind me) he went blasting down that hill, couldnt stop and nearly wiped me out.

as an aside - how fecking wet was it today?

still tippling down now - dont think its stopped since first thign. i was going to have a crack at mecca again tomorrow as well (as long as my kit has dried)

Welcome Mark, you did well last week and like clint suggests a lid is highly recommended, not only in case you crash it's in case someone else crashes into you!

With the conditions being slippy, soggy an of course very dark the odd rogue tree root can easily spin you around before you've had a chance to react.

          Hi Guys,

Looking forward to bringing my lid out on tuesday! After getting sound advice on purchasing a decent front light I'm now after suggestions for a light for my lid?

          Thanks again,

          Mark

                  According to packaging..
Cree LED up to 150lm, includes batteries, carry strap and case.
£9.99 and looks great. Will try on tomorrow nights' ride.
