  • Is my bike ok

Hello everybody, I would like to join your club but my bike is a Trek 7000 hybrid with front suspension and 700x35 wheels. I give it some welly on Holcombe Moor and the tracks around Rivington and it performs well. Is my bike ok for the type of riding you do? I hope so. Would appreciate advice. Thanks in anticipation

    Stench.

Stench - probably not for club rides to be honest but you never know! Might be worth seeing if anyone local to you is doing a ride and see how you get on.

Just due to the sort of routes we do, drop offs, downhills, rocky sections - but its not all about the bike! The rides (some/most) are quite demanding on components of MTBs so might be a bit much for a hybrid which are more for canal paths/paths and roads.

If you have ridden down the broken rd or San Marino descent (Belmont) at Rivi as fast as you can then fair play to you.

I think the club manual for rides says, "find the biggest hill, ride up it"

the words "ride up to the masts" also feature very frequently when describing our rides.
