how much? Flows on hope pro 2's are corkers - check out wheelpro.co.uk

edit: how hard are you after hitting them? flows are the tougher - the others get rave reviews too.

i've used dt swiss rims for about 4 years without problems. Had 455's first, and now use 4.2's no problems, are plenty tough enough and light too. The 5.1's are bigger and wider so should be plenty strong enough. However the build of the wheel has more to do with the strength of the wheel than the components themselves so pick a good one. Paul at Thattos builds very good wheels in my opinion.

Would go with the flows if you want something bulletproof. Never used the 5.1's, but don't always get the best reviews, nobody has a bad word to say about the flows + they're lighter as well.

Hope hubs and Stans rims get my vote.

By American classic hubs roll better, hopes sound nicer if you can put up with the clatter.

Have a look here

Or speak with Paul at Thattos

Very close to what Thattos charged me for Hope pro 2's and Mavic 819 rims.

back from camping trip .now looking at getting wheels from moonglu, and after some more hole digging for myself ,I am having second thoughts ,as straight pulls seem to be the better option according to people ,any advise from you knowledgable lot would be apprecaited

hi, chunk I did notice you had bought some ,and was going to pm you to ask your opinion ,would you say the straight pulls dont have much difference than standard ?
straight are more expensive so is a factor, but not much ,only black hub and rim available.

Dont know about straight etc, just know i like them, feel much better than my 317s and not bent Got them from just riding along in the end, you can pick your hub colour. Would have really liked the white flows but gone from black on black.

Straight pull spokes are said to be a stronger spoke, as they dont have the elbow as a weak point.....but usually more expensive to replace (both spokes and hub) and usually a lot harder to source replacement spokes......and harder to true up as the whole spoke has a tendency to twist when tweaking the nipple. I'd stick with the standard hubs/spokes.

i'd agree with Hendy, stick with conventional j-bend spokes.
