  1. Newbie Wheel Building

    After finding some damaged spokes and worn bearing race I decided to have a go at rebuilding my rear wheel.

    Borrowed a truing stand of Nobby (thanks matey )
    Spokes and 1/4" bearings from Thattos I was all set.

    Quick You Tube training session (t'internet is ace) and I started.

    Dismantled the the wheel and proceeded to lace the new hub.

    First 16 spokes went a dream (easy peasy)

    Couple of months wait, replacement frame as Orange found a crack so now have a shiny new neon 2011 5
  3. Project SS

    Well, I have mentioned a few times about sorting out my old bike but always spending on the Five!

    Thought the other day "sod it, gonna do it" and got a basic SS kit from ebay for £22.50 inc, 15T cog, spacers, and tensioner.

    A few other things need a little attention on the bike to get it rolling again.

    Namely, loose headset, possible creaking BB, knackered pedals, mediocre brakes and maybe tyres.

  4. Mukluk Blog

    I WAS LIKE A KID on Christmas morning; either that or I was starting with a cold or manflu.

    It all started back in August with a lump of redundancy money and Salsa’s announcement of it’s first ever snow bike, the Mukluk. I read the marketing blurb, the forums that are into that sort of thing lit up with “why it’s so good” and “why it’s so bad”, but I put my deposit down nevertheless with a bike shop in the states.
